Programming - page 9

Vasiliy Sokolov:
C is advised to be studied because there is a certain knowledge base that will be relevant at all times. C makes it possible to get that base. Yes, it is a more complicated path, but "a step to the left, a step to the right" will not knock the ground out from under you.
So:C or C++? What is the fundamental difference between the two?

Vasiliy Sokolov:
C is advised to learn because there is a certain knowledge base that will be relevant at all times. C makes it possible to get that base. Yes, it is a more complicated path, but "a step to the left, a step to the right" will not knock the ground out from under you.

don't try to make a bullshit out of it.

mql4/5 is a self-sufficient programming language, so you can get all the basic programming basics you need by using it alone.

Moreover, any programming language allows you to learn the basics of programming.

it's another matter that for the vast majority -- this conclusion is not really clear -- probably because the majority cannot even theoretically be professional -- you should always listen to the reasonable opinion of a competent minority.

Andrey F. Zelinsky:

don't make stuff up.

mql4/5 is quite a self-sufficient programming language to get all the basic programming basics you need solely with it.

One language is not enough. You need a good textbook or tutor. There are many textbooks for C, but none for the new MQL.

The basics are too basic to solve a particular problem. You can learn to navigate an array in either C or MQL.

Vasiliy Sokolov:

One language is not enough. ...

-- another "smart" conclusion -- do you have any idea what you're generating with that smart-as-a-knowledgeable look?

How many languages do you need to know towrite an indicator or EA for MT4/5?

Andrey F. Zelinsky:

one should always listen to the sound opinion of a competent minority.

Is this coming from you? MQL5 is definitely not the language from which you should start your programming studies.

At least because the developers have not yet deigned to make a register of compiler errors and warnings with examples of their occurrence.

Комбинатор:

Is it for you?

You, too -- if you suddenly have a common-sense perspective on an issue, why not listen to you?

the point is, on any issue, it's always the minority who are competent.

Комбинатор:

MQL5 is definitely not the right language to start learning programming with.

At least because the developers have not yet deigned to make a register of compiler errors and warnings with examples of their occurrence.

a profound conclusion - keep on burning

Andrey F. Zelinsky:

Abolk, what if the student's goal is to get a job as a junior programmer? It doesn't matter which one, it could be java, it could be c#.

Then what would you say, what would you advise me to do?

Andrey F. Zelinsky:

-- another "clever" conclusion -- do you even realize what you are generating with a clever, know-it-all look?

How many languages do you need to know towrite an indicator or advisor for MT4/5?

The circus tour goes on...

Stanislav Aksenov:

Abolk, what if the student's goal is to get a job as a junior programmer? It doesn't matter which one, it could be java, it could be c#.

Then what would you say, what would you advise to do?

I don't know -- and I don't even know the question.

in our case we are talking about mql4/5 and only-- or rather -- writing EAs and indicators for mt4/5 terminals -- and nothing more
