FORTS: Strategies and how to implement them - page 5

Edic:
You have to build bid/ask and test by flipper.
It is impossible to test this in the standard MT5 tester.

Serj_Che:

Yeah, well...

Mikalas:

More to the point, it's a lousy schedule!

But there are 1 or 2 virtual trades a day.

Virtual ones do not count. When opening on the market, there is a large slippage. I do not understand why.

Maybe my broker is dealing with HFT? ))

Serj_Che:
In the regular MT5 tester it is impossible to test this.
I told you: it is virtual(no real trades) on a real account

Mikalas:

Again.

WHAT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO?

You shouldn't have been so mean to Sergei. He won't answer now. And he probably knows the right way to do it and why. Judging by his posts on MT4 - he's very smart.

I'll go and sign up for a training if he agrees.)

Do you think that I am being cheeky?

It's just that the formula is so obvious (from strategy description)...

But if that's how it was perceived, then my apologies!

Serj_Che:

Virtual ones don't count. When you open on the market, there is a big slippage. I don't fully understand why.

I'm testing, based on EXISTING possibilities...

Slippage is bound to happen, but there are ways to deal with it.

Mikalas:

Tell me about the ways, if it's not a secret.

I have such a robot, but I've abandoned it.

I have tested it virtually too, virtually everything is much more interesting than in real life.

Serj_Che:

I have such a robot, but have abandoned it, maybe I'll bring it up to speed.

No, it's not ALL a secret.

You have to buy ONLY with limit with ORDER_FILLING_IOC,

then the slippage will be only on the return trade

(on high-liquid instruments only a little - the density in the put is much higher).

And it is desirable to trade not from home, but from a virtual machine.

I have done so.

Ok! I'll try it from virtual machine.
