Vigor:
Definitely buy it, for MT5 then...

I will definitely buy it when I get the chance. It's not just about mt4 mt5. Only since 1994, when I, being a 7th grader, wrote programs in Basic and Pascal on PC-NC (there was such a computer) at school, participated in competitions, won the field and was in Russia (and all this on PC-NC when others were already on Pentium 120) I struggled with the minimum power. My first personal computer was SX-25 with 14" black-white screen and 43Mb hard disk with win95 (hardly fit in) left a lasting impression and now, when I have a chance to buy the best... I buy the best. This urge has developed like a child who used to play all his childhood with wooden toys and now has an opportunity to buy radio-controlled cars. By passing the terminal I always have a couple of virtual machines running via vmware, can simultaneously hang Delphi 2010, PhotoShop CS5, DreamWeaver, running Kaspersky, and at the same time, without closing the open programs can (sometimes so) play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 at full graphics capabilities without lags ... So I can say with confidence - I don't regret the money I spent (about 70-80k in total). And if possible, I will continue to upgrade regardless of the amount. Why do people want to earn tens of thousands of dollars in forex, talk a lot about it, but the computer can not afford to buy. I don't call to buy computers to the detriment of the family (or other) budget. But if a computer is a source of zarobatka, then why not buy a computer for 40000 and thus make your stay at this conditional place of work more comfortable?

There is such a thing as common sense.

I don't even know what to say. Why should I buy a 40000 CPU if I can put together a system for that kind of money?

I can even say more, if you add a little (to the cost of "smart" chipset) you can buy two. So they won't be so smart, but one of them can be fully dedicated to Forex.

For Win 7 x64, memory is not quite big enough but you may need more than two times as much (in my opinion, of course). By the way, why is it 4094 (like 4096 must be)?

Interesting:

> Not enough memory for Win 7 x64, twice as much is needed (in my opinion of course).

And surely you can justify it?

> By the way, why 4094 (4096 is supposed to be)?

honestly, i have no idea why 4094

Hi dabystru ,

Please add my tests as well:

W7 x64

i7 920 2.66GHz (overclocked to 3210 MHz) RAM 12GB 1866MHz SSD drive OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G / PR108

Local PC (remote) Agent the same processor: PR107

Second one is W2k8 x64 920 2.66GHz RAM 12GB 1066MHz SSD drive OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G

Remote agent: PR62

After analyzing the results I think I know why my results make a record. I use SSD disk, the rest is the same.

Strange my testing doesn't confirm theory that agent runs faster then backtester unless MT fixed that. I'm using Build 370

P.S. I have looked again and I noticed that Renat has 3.0GHz i7-950, and I tested on 3210MHz, this is where it gained 2seconds or ~20% speed,

may be it is combination or CPU and HD, however I think MT5 loads data to RAM in this case HD's speed is not relevant.

Buy a couple dozen P-IIs or P-IIIs at a bazaar (10-20 quid each), network them up + an Asus EEE and you have a small workstation and a powerful remote network !

Boo-ha-ha !!!!! :))

Hardly likely to be small because of the large mountain of system units. ;)
