The ban on "Demo" products is not feasible because there is a minimum of 30 USD for all product payments!
Why not allow sellers to sell for 5 USD? This would solve 99.9% of the problem.
(1) If a product contains the word 'Lite', can the product name be changed, or does a new product have to be registered?
(2) Since links to third party resources are not allowed in the product description (e.g. YouTube, Google Drive), can these links be provided in the Comments tab and customers be pointed to find these links in the 'Comments' tab in the product description? e.g. the following sentence in the product description: "Please find a link to a Google Drive repository in the 'Comments' tab, to download sample parameters for our utility" Is this acceptable? If not, please suggest an alternative

Hello,
A lot of products are tools/utilities, not auto-trading EA, which don't open any trade or only trade based on real-time user's interact. So, back-testing cannot help users to test this kind of product. This decision will make difficulty for Sellers.
I suggest to create a new type for products, which name "Demo", beside of 2 current types "Paid" and "Free". So, all demo products (with Seller's restriction) can be moved to "Demo" section and they will no longer make users confused with free products.
Please note that most Sellers make demo product for users to have a glance view of the real product, not for scam. This will encourage Buyers to buy the product, other than buying without any test. This is the standard of software industry. Most software products out there always have demo/trial version with some restrictions. This will benefit Buyers -> they have more confidence to buy -> better for both Sellers and MQL5.
I strongly ask MQL5 to find a better solution, other than decide to ban all demo products.
Thanks and best regards,
Two q's please:

#2 - This is not true: "Since links to third party resources are not allowed in the product description"
The post says: "You can specify a link to your website in the product description and add #property link to program code — this link will be displayed in a standard dialog during program start."

This is the best solution for Sellers and for users to filter demo product category.
Please also enable option to swicth curent DEMO tools to new "demo" category.
We have tools that are used to help traders with manual trading. This types of tools canot be tested in strategy tester, becouse they need to be tested on live charts.

Demo versions running in the strategy tester do not allow users to test the program with a graphical interface.
I create complex panels, the functionality of which can be evaluated when used only on the live chart.
Your proposed option of placing the monthly version for a small fee is absolutely illogical, since the minimum cost is $30. It's stupid to pay $30 for a product test, when the product costs, for example, $50.
Therefore, the correct solution is either to add a weekly version for a LOWER fee, or to create an opportunity to test any type of program in the tester, or to cancel these rules.
