EA performed better with higher spread?

hi all

i'm building some random EA's and i'm noticing that many of them performed better when spread was set to higher, for example 1spread vs 15.

why is this so? shouldn't 1spread give the highest possible outcome if all the rest is left the same? (EA wasn't edited, i've just changed the option from the strategy tester)
