Does MT4 have TDI?  I am new to the forex market. I have a demo version on fxglory, and would like to use the TDI for indicators. If it does have it, how do I access  it? If not, where can I get it

Trend detection index - indicator for MetaTrader 5

Based on the "Are You in A Trend" article by M.H.Pee :

The  trend detection index (TDI) is used to detect when a trend has begun and when it has come to an end. The TDI can be used as a stand-alone indicator or combined with others; it will perform well  in  detecting  the  beginning  of trends. However, this does not mean its signals are totally accurate. Protective stops as well as trailing stops† must be incorporated  to  produce  a  complete mechanical  system.  These  stops  are required  to  protect  against  large  losses  when  the  indicator generates  a  losing  trade.  The  T DI is  robust;  it  can  trade  a diverse  portfolio  of  markets  profitably  over  many  years, using the same parameters throughout.

In this version we are adding smoothing option prior to using prices in the calculation. The lag added is small, hence the smoothing can help in filtering out some false signals

Where did I tell about that indicator (the "Smoothed Rsi Inverse Fisher Transform") that "it is a good filter"?

PS : I do not trade TDI - since TDI is more or less two moving averages of the same RSI, my opinion that those averages crosses with the RSI are adding too much false signals for my taste (but then that is just my opinion - so in the case of TDI better to look sor some other source of information - maybe the best to use the Mark Douglas' document where he describes how he imagined how it should be used - here is his document explaining it : tdi.pdf)

If you want to know more so the Mladen (author of the post which I quoted above) is "regular guy" for that (means: he is the specialists with this indicator incl some particularities with it and so on).
