It is very bad practise restarting a VPS meant for trading from Mon to Fri. VPS maintenance should be done in weekends.
bad or not bad ...
It is not practise. It may be some issue to be fixed ...
Anyway - I do not know. It is just my thinking - because I was reading some threads related to VPS with Market products (and the issue was fixed yesterday). May be - it should be necessary to re-start after fixing ...
It is not a regular practise.
Hello, yesterday my vps suddenly showed these messages in the log:
2018.12.19 16:56:41.011 RAM: 382 Mb reserved, 320 Mb committed
Apparently the system and shut down and rebooted. this cause my expert advisors to stop and restart and mess up some variables in memory.
I had the platform open on my pc at the time but i definitely didn't stop or restart my server i have no reason to do so.
So my question is what could cause the system to behave this way? is it user based? server based? what are all the reasons that would cause a vps to shutdown and reboot?
Thank you.
It's off-topic for this site. Talk to your provider and learn how Windows is working.
What do you mean it is off topic? My provider are the meta quotes vps and they say for technical issues post on the forum, there is no help desk, how can I found out what happened to my expert advisor and prevent it from happening again?
Sorry I thought it was an third-party VPS provider. I don't know if it's usual for the server to be restart, probably not. I suppose it was to force the update to Build 1160 or 1170.
However your code should be done to manage such eventuality.
