This is a bug. Now you can not trust the Terminal with the storage of ticks. They can disappear right during the operation of the Terminal (without restarting).
Developers have long known about this bug. Do not remove your CSV-files or other sources of ticks.
Please, fix this bug, this is making the entire metatrader software useless!
You can report to the service desk -
- if they/developers in the service desk agree that it is the bug so it is fine - you can ask about when they will fix it;
- if they do not agree that it is the bug so it may be good for you to prove this bug.
Because there are few threads on the forum where the users are asking/forcing the MQ "to fix a bug" ... and when MQ is starting to explain and more so everybody sees that it is not a bug ...

I create a new custom symbol and import tick data to mt5.
Check the folder and see some *.tkc files.
..\bases\Custom\ticks\EURUSD2\
So I close the MT5 client and restart the MT5, check the folder, all tkc files have been deleted. Why? I have to import tick data every time.
