But my question was about introducing a comprehensive book on broker and how they work.
Brokers are retailers, there is nothing secret about brokers, they are supposed to make money with the spread, but some brokers play against their client, (the information about this is on the internet), if the client alway lose, they take position against their client, but this is no secret.
( there is nothing to know about brokers, unless they are dishonest, but this is the problem of any activity, not especially forex, and the information about this can also be found on internet.)

Only market makers can do that, but being a market maker doesn't mean they are dishonest as being apparently an ecn doesn't mean they are true ecn, one should check the reliability of a broker by its regulations.
