Stoploss triggered but price was not reach

Hi

A few days ago i opened a BUY position of NZD/USD at 0.7141 with a Stoploss at 0.7120.

(16/09/09 20:31 to 17/09/09 00:08 ).

To this time the price never reached my SL, but it was triggered.

Why does this happen?

Or is this a software bug?

You can see it on the chart below.

Have a nice day

Ask technical support of your broker. They should explain the problem.

I only know of 1 broker that has fixed spreads which normally fix this problem.

However, most brokers have floating spreads that adjust during volatile moments. so if the spread jumps 20 pips., the actual CHART price may never reach your SL however the increased range in the spread would have triggered your stoploss.

I caught my broker doing this to me a couple times. There are probably other brokers as well then. They were probably just cheating you!

This is why i hardly ever publish my stop loss
