Refresh enough or should I reload whole mt4 instead?

Is compile in editor followed by refresh in mt4 enough or should I always reload the whole mt4 while editing mq4 files back and forth? Both equally effective?

 

When you compile in the editor you don't need to do anything - associated terminal will automatically refresh the compiled code.

There will be information in the journal and experts tabs that EA/indicator/script is reloaded.

Journal really different from expert tab? Seen expert tab fail .

Yes, journal and experts tab have different information. Check it yourself.

Sometimes I click on Compile many times, and it still does not update in the mt4 program itself and I must manually close MT4 and re open for the new compiles to take effect. This doesn't happen to you ever? Might be a wine issue

 

I've never had those problems on Windows. Probably wine.

 
I've never had those problems on Windows either. You compile and fail, indicator is removed. You compile and succeed, all indicators are reloaded.
