Mladen, attached is an attempted mod of the polyfit scalper v1.59 with newsfilter...I am attempting to use the indicator Dynamic Zone Jurik Volty MTF as an additional entry filter. The intent is to filter out any entries when M5 volty is less than the midline. The EA doesnt seem to be taking any trades, even though as you can see from the pic the bands are breached and entries SHOULD have happened - so apparently I have failed. Can you help please? Note I have newsfilter off and time filter set to 24/5 operation.
Thanks !!!

OdysseusOdysseus,
Hope you won't mind me doing the mod anyway here's Polyfit with Volty, posting the indicator without mtf and alerts, which is used in the Ea, added a spread filter(in case you want to test), since the news filter not working yet.
BTW your coding was pretty close keep it up
Thanks -
I run various editions of polyfit on various platforms, mosly demo but a couple live - and BLEW out a live account (was very small, just a few hundred $ but still annoying) this past morning when AUD news hit.
Lessons learned:
1) good that you added a max spread setting - spread widening kept my positions from exiting at what SHOULD have been a breakeven.
2) we *DO* need a working newsfilter if we want to run polyfit on any pairs that are affected by news at any times. That means that without a news filter you cant IMO safely run polyfit using that schedule file on ANY AUD/JPY/NZD pairs (because those pairs WILL occasionally news that causes spikes). A max spread filter is a good first step, but we really need full newsfilter.
3) I have been visually backtesting and we also still do need that cfb-log min value filter IMO...filters out low-potential entries.
4) thanks for adding the volty filter, but using it as-is (on current chart TF), you will never get any entries on m1, because any time the polyfit bands are breached, volty WILL be above the midline on the m1 TF. What I was trying to accomplish with that was using m5 volty reading, and trying to only allow trades when there is a spike during an otherwise-dull point (volty<midline on higher TF). See what I am saying? And it still doesnt work vs events like news spikes because that volty reacts too slowly for that.
Hope you can address these issues.
Thanks for your work man, I'm learning alot from you !!
Check the below pic for a laugh on what can happen on news spikes even with filters......

OdysseusBy default the volty was set to 5 minute timeframe here- extern int voltytf = 5; made it an external parameter which the user can control, will add the cfb back just left it out because in last version you posted it was not being used in buy or sell routine.
NewDigital, I read a post by you on here somewhere and you mentioned which currencies were impacted by which other currencies news events.
could u repeat that please?
Thanks
Odysseus

Current Status
I went through this thread and have started testing on a demo account. Could use a little clarification:
New Digital have you stopped forward testing 1.7.3. I usually like Mr. Tools modifications, but you seem to have abandoned that in favor of 1.59
Mr.Tools on 1.7.3 are you using the crb indicator posted on permalink 264or are you usiing one of the other versions, i.e. "crb new," etc.
Also, where does the discussion re news filter end up. Necessary or not?
Thanks in advance.
