That is a renamed regression channel (and "Mostafa Belkhayate" was using some versions that he did not code but just renamed - so much about "center of gravity", that guy is not an owner of anything regarding that indicator)
As of regression analysis : that is probably one of the most widely used tools there is in any signal processing. Since it is used for almost 200 years, I guess it tells about it usefulness more than I can, but, as all serious mathematical models, it has to be learned and studied before understanding how it can be used.
