The "XO"-Method......... - page 4

Hi Valeo

I have had this system running for a few days and it looks really nice. I was a bit hesitant to try it at first as it cannot really be backtested...the bars correcting at the close of their particular period but so far in forward testing it seems to work well. I will also need to learn to implement the CCI for this strategy to learn to see overheating. Not used CCI much.

So far demo trade USDJPY s 111.71 +31.

I will run a few pairs - 4 majors and EURGBP for fun.

Thank you for sharing.

Cheers

My pleasure Ant. Please let us know how you do with the crosses as there are requests for the crosses, which I don't trade yet. If this works well enough, I will try my hand it it too.

thanks

Thanks valeofx

i look forward to testing it myself.

one more question

are you using 5min charts? for this setup.

thanks again

Yes, I do, Geoff.

Hi ValeoFX... Im not Kalenzo or Keris but i put an alert in this indicator.. Tell me if its this that you want..

Just checked your Alert, Hellkas. It has to ALERT us when all 4 Time Frames (60/30/15/5) have shown the same colour and obviously on the close of the last 5-m candle.

So you need to know the correct names of our Oscillators, which are: ZZ MTF XO A(without any underscoring).

Once you have done this for us, I will ask you to add the CCI-parameters to it, but let us get this right first. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for sharing Valeo!

Could you please give some pointers how you apply your management trading this?

a) do you use an intitial SL?

b) how much leverage do you use for each trade (like for every $1k in the account 1 mini lot)

c) how much pairs do you monitor at a time

d) how much trades would you take simultanuosly?

Thank you!

Initial S/L @ -35

100 : 1

ONLY GBP/USD (I am not clever enough to monitor more than one )

I only take ONE trade at a time.

Thank you

With 100:1 do you mean you trade a full 100k lot if your acct size is $1000?

Hi Dan,

I think he means his leverage is 100:1 (100 to 1)

moneyline

how has this been in forward testing? looks quite interesting...i dont really see the benefit of the cci as a filter. cci is better for divergence than oversold overbought.

My interpretation in the use of the CCI for this system is as follows ( and I am possibly wrong but this can be used to clarify)

1. Exit a trade when 14 hits the 250 level.

2. Never enter a trade if 14 is greater than 250...(not sure that this would ever really happen anyway but we will know in forward testing.)

Valeo...I am more than happy to keep this thread informed of the EURGBP trades. I think it will be interesting to see how a slow but steady mover like this cross will perform in this setup as opposed to a more lively pair like GBPUSD.

Cheers
