A correction :

I think I found a reason for the losses in your back-test. The reason does not lie in the EA but in the XO indicator and the way it works.

Originally BoxSize parameter meant pips and with 5 digit brokers it does not mean it any more. See the difference between the two indicators on a 5 digit broker (upper is the i_XO_A_H without that adjustment, lower is the XO_forEA with broker adjustment) And the back-test with the new indicator (from 01.01.2009, default settings). All you need to update is the indicator there is no additional change in the EA

PS: updated the XO_forEA in the original post too

How do you determine which ea is useless on backtest and which can be backtested?

...

EAs working on open bar only and using MTF (so open bar MTF indicators) are worthless on back-test (and I mean worthless) It is a trick used by scammers to produce results they can then sell. Open bar MTF using indicators tests can be done only in live forward testing no other way. I am not saying that EAs working that way are worthless (there are some good EAs working that way), all I am saying that the backtest done that way are worthless

This EA, when you set the EachTickMode to false (the default setting) works on closed bars and it never uses MTF, so it avoids that trap. Even then, since metatrader is using 1 minute data when trying to reconstruct what it does not have (those tick data) it is not 100% reliable. That is behind , in my opinion, the matatraders people decision to write out those 90% in the back-test results and that is the reason why ND told you that only forward testing is the "real thing"

____________________________________

Anyway, the back test results for this EA with changed XO indicator and eachTickMode set to false to test on closed bars, are more or less what one would expect (results resemble the live forward testing of the Scalp_net EA)

PS: Forgot to write on my previous post : that chart is 1H but the back-test was done on 5 minute data

PPS: as usual, it helps if one reads a thread beforeand not after. Almost all changes done here in these posts (except for the orderModify error 1 and that indicator is still the "slow" one) already done in this post here : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173371/page25 . Read mladen, read... In any case, I recommend using the latest XO_forEA indicator, since it really does it's job much faster

Mladen How do you determine which ea is useless on backtest and which can be backtested?

Gain profit just using Original Layers Template in mt4..please check.

My friend found it in here:

[ Share ] Raftin12 - 1M Scalping System - Kaskus - The Largest Indonesian Community

He traded it manually in demo account, and wondering someone could make EA based on this case.

Here's how he traded:

Traded in EURUSD M1.

Suggestion :

TP = 3 - 5 pips

SL = 0

Don't trade when there is any NEWS, can make false signal.

Buy if the RED line across MACD bar from above.

Sell if the RED line across MACD bar from bottom.

Question:

1. Can we gain profit using this technique?

2. Can we improve this technique?

here's my idea:

- adding terms for signal entry:

a. MACD volume.

b. MACD become pyramid shaped or not? (7 shift value (or more) before lowerer and lowerer?)

c. How long MACD reversed from top-bottom/bottom-top? (How many bars?)

d. anything else?

Regard.

I moved your post to this thread as this system is very similar with Scalp_net EAs https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173371/page2

EAs were developed with many versions - see here https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/176044

Other EAs/indicators for M1 timeframe: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general

By the way, Scalp_net_v1.3.2_tf EA is performing good for EURUSD M1 (you can see it with RAS ID 417).

As I see https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/176044 - there are many versions of Scalp_net which I did not test.

I am testing just Scalp_net_v1.3.2 (M1 EURUSD) and Scalp_net_v1.5 (EURUSD, M5).

I did not test Turbo Scalp_net v2.3sar and some other turbo versions.

Thanks Admin for moving my thread...

okay...I'll check this Scalp_net...

I just wanna register RAS...last nite my internet connection just like pregnant snail...

Your system is more simple as Scalp_net.

Scalp_net = your system + 2 EMA indicators' crossing.

Next versions of Scalp_net was something as

"max trades in the same time opened" settings.

Next versions were I-XO indicator was added as the filter and system was moved to M5 timeframe from M1.

And next versions ... mrtools coded some modification combined Scalp_net_1.3sl (improved Scalp_net with trailing stop for M1) with Scalp_net_1.5 (most latest version for M5 with I-XO indicator) changed the indicators to turbo modern versions on the same way as Predator EA by Bluto.

Amazing...fantastic....u rock ND....

u know... I'm really happy to have admin like u...

serve much more than I asked...

And now, I can see it clearly bout this system's improvement.

I'm so stressed now because of my internet provider is really not reliable.

take 15minutes just for reply this post..I'll change it soon.

btw, I really happy n apreciate your support, ND.

I'll test them when I got them all.

so we can see which is the best in gaining profit(in my broker backtest, I mean).

but, if they all are already in rentasignal, it will be rock..

I said this because I still haven't check them all bcos of my connction.

Which versions are with RAS?

ID 186 (Scalp_net_v1.5)

ID 484 (Scalp_net_v1.5 with timefilter)

ID 417 (Scalp_net_v1.3.2 with timefilter)

I did not test turbo versions yet.
