i think time to trade is when market america (US) open. normally at 13.00 - 16.00 GMT.
or when european market is open, normally at 07.00 - 10.00 GMT
and i agree with jdun... i avoid to trade in friday because market is to volatile to predict...
good luck...

Just for the information.
Time and movement
I'm really newbie at Forex trading and specialy newbie at EA and indicators , I live in Vancouver Canada and I always seem to be missing the good trading times when there's lots of movement cuz I'm sleeping, so that's when I discovered the EA , I think it's a great idea. So my question is , I know that EA are base on indicators but is it possible to have one based on Time and movement e.i. The market moves about 100 pips within 30 minutes then it's time to buy/sell and close the trade shortly after ,lets say 15 pips profit and put a trailing stop close too at 10 pips. I know nothing about writing EA so I was wondering if it would be possible and maybe profitable ?
P.S. I might be talking out of my ass here but please enlighten me
newdigital thanks that was exactly what I was looking for. now do you know where there might be some help on how to program my EA to only trade from this time to that time (est) and not on fridays?
Look at https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173094
I used Codersguru lessons to do it with Ichimoku5.
It is very easy. It is working hours: within these hours your EA will process all opened orders but will not open new one.
As to Friday I do not know yet.
I am studying this mql4 programming together with everybody.
Thanks a lot. That code was perfect.

Ok I am somewhat new to forex metatrading. Are there any times during the day that should be avoided where the market basically stays quiet but can send my autotrader to make a bad trade?
