Wait, not sure what you mean by "Step through", it's hanging when I am doing "Step into" F11, but NOT hanging when using "Start/Resume debugging" F5.
 

I press F5 to start debugging (so that "Step into" becomes an option, otherwise it is greyed out).

I press F11 five times.

It finishes??

Mine is hanging on first F11 (after initial F5 of course). And hanging only with F11 (step into), not with F5, F10, or Shift-F11.

I will stop testing now, bothered with all these hangs. :-D

 
Strange. I'm also stopping trying to hang my terminal.

Firstly, I can confirm that it doesn't cause my MT4 Build 1031 with MetaEditor Version 5.00 Build 1498 to hang.

But, I have to ask, why would you try and return an integer to a string function, and then store it in string variable?

Actually the implementation of the body of the class static function is irrelevant for the purpose of reproducing this bug.

However I updated that body, per your rightful comment.

Odd that I can't replicate it, but Alain can.
