supercallim: Which broker provides the furthest historical data? i am using a broker
now but it only provides till year 2000 on Monthly time frame.
I guess no-one really knows (or cares) because many users, when needing data, will use Historical Tick Data from Dukascopy (which goes back a long time) in conjunction with 3rd Party tools like TickStory or Birt's Tick Data Suite, to build/generate their FXT/HST files for use in the Strategy Tester.

Tick Data is the super-set of OHLC Bar data. The 3rd party tools I mentioned are capable of producing both FXT files (with tick data for back-testing) and HST files (with OHLC bar data). So it is up to you!
