integrated mail function on build 625 & gmx

I have read that also others have problems with sending mails with the integrated mail function.

I am using my metatrader build 625 with my gmx mail account and getting the following errror message:

"Mail: 550 Insufficient security or privacy level"

It is necessary to turn on Encryption STARTTLS or TLS for gmx. So I think perhaps this is the reason why it isn't working?


I have also tried to use the maillink.dll for sending mails, but I am only getting "-2" back from this function:

int smtp = MailInit(SMTPServer,25,MailAddress,MailPassword);


So is there any other option sendings mails from the actual mt4?

Is the reason for that error because metaquotes doesn't encrypt their mails?

It is your mail server actually. It must be your settings which is not correct.


Interestingly, after I tried sending test email from MT4 build 625, and it works right out of the box, using standard, non-encrypted port.

 

I am using always the same settings and it worked great.

Now there where two things changed

1. MetaTrader build update to build 625

2. The encrytion changes at gmx, so now SMTP is only working with StartTLS or TLS at port 587. But how can I turn on StartTLS or TLS encryption in my metatrader account? Or do I have to change my mail provider?

 
Better try with another mail provider first.

Should be resolved in build 645.
 

Cons

  • Inbox.com does not offer IMAP access and lacks smart folders for automatic organization
  • To active your account, you have to install a browser toolbar and may need a cell phone
  • Inbox.com does not support encrypted mail and digital signatures

may be this provider can sent MT4 email.. i haven't try it yet


 
My provider doesn't use encryption and MT4 mail works out of the box with the settings from my provider.
 

GMX SOLUTION:

I cannot comment on the limit of 26 messages but if people ever ask how to make mt4's email alerts work these days, for example with the proposed gmx.com free email server they need to log into gmx.com Settings page to enable "Send and receive emails via external program" and click Save button.
