I'm an experienced trader , but this is the very first time I put my hand on the MT-4. I would like to have some help for programming two or three E.A. After 2 or 3 , I *think* I'll be able to edit already made ones....
Search through CodeBase, lots of different EAs are presented there.
There's not a lot of helpful answers, here..... : It's weekend...., go to Codebase....
All I want is to learn programming E.A.'s, and, of course, to begin with a very simple one :
What I wud like to do, as first E.A., is a very basic one : if price crosses the MA 20 (price = MA20 + 1, 2, or 3 pips ), then buy "1", and the same in the reverse : sell "2"
Do you think somebody could help me, please...?
That would be very kind.
Thanks in advance !

Hello,
I'm pretty new here too, the best place to start would be the Book on MQL4, followed by various articles and practice. If you want to edit already made ones, it would be better if you had a good grasp of how it pretty much was coded or how the control flows etc.
I've linked some interesting articles that you may want to check out (there are loads more out there, with many great stuff in threads too):

Since you're an experienced trader I'm sure you know the potential of E.As or at least some of their advantages..well it's not a short journey to learn MQL4 and code EAs (as I'm currently discovering), but I'm sure it's worth it, in the meantime, I'm doing my best to enjoy the journey itself (:
cheers,
kira.

Hello All,
As I said, this is the very first time I'm looking at E.A.
I d/l the MT4 from FXCM and from FxPro. Both of them are "offering" the same two "samples" E.A. : MACD and Moving Average.
I put them 2 on 2 different graphs, but they haven't made any operation... ( although I carefully checked if everything was ok... )
What I wud like to do, as first E.A., is a very basic one : if price crosses the MA 20 (price = MA20 + 1, 2, or 3 pips ), then buy "1", and the same in the reverse : sell "2"
