I realize that it has a way to go, but I would like an explaination as to how the Optimization parameters within the Testing Tab is intended to function.
I realize that it has a way to go, but I would like an explaination as to how the Optimization parameters within the Testing Tab is intended to function.
For instance, when we select "Profit Factor" and click the Genetic algorithm box, is the backtesting running a genetic algorithm that optimizes the profit factor and if so, how is that reported so it may benefit forward testing?
Furthermore, the Optimization tab itself shows such settings as "Profit Maximum". If I check this box and put a value of 10000 into it, the test is supposed to stop when I reach a profit of 10000? Why would I want to do that?Come join my thread here.

It's in the elite section,but pretty much I am working on an EA that uses genetic Algorithms. But my synopsis is that while it will produce some gains it will not be the end all be all EA.
