Let’s directly go to the Hillary Clinton’s speech in question here, in quote,

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.”

This is what she said at a fundraiser in New York. I am sure the speechwriter or Hillary didn’t think how many people they are possibly insulting with these words. Going by the poll numbers and American population, she insulted about 70 million people.

We don’t want to get into the discussion on how bad Hillary is or her lying or she unfit to be a president or her illness. Both the candidates have said a lot of things throughout the campaign but what we would like to point out is this-

  • Donald Trump in a later interview said that when he first heard of those, he couldn’t believe that she said that and asked her campaign to recheck. That’s exactly the point. While these scandals with emails, Clinton foundation are so Hillary but this was not. So how come she made such a mistake?

This could probably be best described by a quotation from an interview of Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, “ When a person steps outside the lines of common decency, it does not spell that they are a strong leader. To the contrary, it shows their weakness”.
