I need to fix the alerts of my SMC Order Blocks indicator, which is a custom indicator created for me some time ago. This custom indicator already has several types of alerts built-in, but I need to fix specific ones while keeping the other existing alerts unchanged, as those do not have any errors.
The alert is for a specific Order Blocks pattern.
This indicator graphically provides a zigzag, and from there, CHoCH and BOS are derived along with their respective zones of interest. What I want is that when there is a crossing of zones of interest in the same direction with specific parameters, an alert is triggered. The basic explanation is as follows:
FOR BUY SIGNALS:
When the last bullish OB aligns with a second previous bullish OB, touching each other, and the last OB in chronological order has a higher low than the older OB’s low and a higher high than the older OB’s high, the alert is triggered.
FOR SELL SIGNALS:
When the last bearish OB aligns with a second previous bearish OB, touching each other, and the last OB in chronological order has a lower high than the older OB’s high and a lower low than the older OB’s low, the alert is triggered.
This might be a bit difficult to explain, but the alert system is simple.
This alert system was designed by a programmer; however, the work was somewhat flawed. While the correct alerts are sent, many incorrect alerts are also triggered. To put it into context, for every 100 alerts, 30 are correct and the other 70 are not. Additionally, the indicator has three issues that waste time:
-
The first issue is that both correct and incorrect alerts accumulate when opening the terminal. For example, if the last time the terminal was opened was on 01-08-2024 and today, 15-09-2024, the terminal is opened again, the charts have not updated during that time and they all refresh at once. Since the alert system works at the candle close, a bunch of old alerts are sent that are not needed. I only care about alerts from the moment the terminal opens to the present, not all previous alerts, as they overload the terminal, slow it down, and provide irrelevant information.
-
The second issue is the incorrect alerts being sent, which is simply a waste of time.
-
The third issue is that I was not given a "true/false" button to enable or disable these alerts, even though the other alerts do have this feature.
In case you didn’t understand the previous explanation regarding the alert system, I have some example videos of what needs to be fixed.
Note: As I mentioned, this indicator has an alert system built in that triggers when a new OB is generated. This alert system should remain intact without any changes. This system is even visible on the chart because there is a button in the top left corner of the chart called “Alert.” This button is only visible when the indicator is added to the chart, and by default, the button is gray. When the alerts are activated, the button turns light green. This must remain unchanged.
The alert that needs fixing has nothing to do with this alert button or the existing alerts; it is something entirely separate. I am clarifying this because the previous programmer got confused and mixed everything up, although he later fixed it. However, the new alerts still had errors.
