Hello,
I own an EA that is recording the tick-data of an instrument on a selected time. I'm happy with the way the EA works but I'd like a change to the way the EA stores the recorded .csv-files:
Currently the data is saved to the ../mql/files/EA_name-instrument_x.csv. If I record the data of the same instrument on different occasions the EA continues to write into the same file.
It should be noted that I am using this EA on several brokers at the same time. I want my overview of the tick-data from all broker to be facilitated by saving them all on one spot together.
The storage function should be changed as follows:
i] once the EA is attached to a certain broker, I will name it "broker_x-tick_recorder", "broker_y-tick_recorder",ect.
ii] A destination folder called "ticks" is created (maybe on the desktop or ../user/documents)
iii] If I order the EA to initiate the tick recording it creates a sub-folder in the destination-folder for every recording setting (YY.MM.DD_HH.MM.SS). This will also be the name of the folder.
iv] the tick-files will be named "broker_x-instrument_x", "broker_x-instrument_y" or "broker_y-instrument_x". The name of the broker can be taken from the title of the EA (see i]).
So as an example if I order my EA to record ticks for USDJPY and XAUUSD at FXCM and OANDA on the February 3rd '15 14:30:00 I get a folder on my desktop called .../ticks/15.02.03_14:30:00/.
Inside this folder there will be 4 files called "FXCM_USDJPY.csv" "OANDA_USDJPY.csv" "OANDA_XAUUSD.csv" "FXCM_XAUUSD.csv".
