Thanks for the tip, I will try to use it in my future work. I just need to solve the problem of the trend edge with a flat. For a start, we can probably try to determine the boundary by the distance from the last extrema passed. Suppose the price passes the lower extremum upwards by 100 pips - we can assume that the trend starts moving upwards and start pyramiding.
I can advise to try one of the SAR indicators - something like a parabolic
but use First SAR points for analysis... - If the movement from one point to another is 10-24 pips, then it is a flat movement ... etc...
or if the points go up - then a trend is drawn...
Why is the ring not working? Most likely, it is not being used correctly.
The ring is not a tool, but the result of hedging failures in the trading tactics used.
What are the tactics?
A ring, using a triangle as an example, is formed by the three pairs p1, p2, p3
The pattern of the ring is expressed by the formula:
a*p1 + (- a)*p2 + b*p3 = r*p3, where a, b are the number of minimum lots traded in the ring. Coefficient values greater than zero - buy, less than zero - sell. It is impossible to obtain zero. by the pair p3 we obtain the tail with the volume of lot r. Let r be negligibly small.
We enter the market according to this scheme:
Ew, it's so dirty.
Good afternoon, haven't read the whole thread, but tell me - how did your ring perform?
I tried to do the same thing, but with a smaller ring. My conclusion was that the ring gives a total of one).
I wonder - how did this ring behave in combat conditions for 10 years?

You know how many of these variants I've run through? All this is fascinating, but it doesn't give you confidence in the result. All these if-ifs...
If you open a triangle (or several), after a while you can only be sure of two things:
1. Prices will go away.
2. Losses will go further than profits by the value of the spreads, but no more.
How do you profit from this? Collecttheir own on the way to where they want to go and where they will end up.
Never, do you hear me? NEVER read the whole thread! )))
Especially one as stupid as this one.People here don't read this thread, they shit on it. Why?
Because it's stupid, it's very simple ))))

... The Saviour got angry and stomped his foot on the water
in his heart: "You are a fool!"
And Andrew went home with the gudgeons in tears...
Do you see there, on the mountain, the cross is towering?
Beneath it are a dozen soldiers. Hang on to it.
And when you've had enough, come back
Walk on the water, walk on the water with me! ©
