Hello please look at the installation process for Linux here: https://www.mql5.com/en/articles/625
Read the discussion below you currently need wine-staging.
And also realize that market does not work on a mac.
* If you still have your old windows machine, you can simply copy the MT4/5 folder to a USB drive and stick it in the mac to load on wine.
This way you can skip the installation process.

Thanks, but the issue is I am not very computer literate when it comes to this technical stuff. I see things like "you have to use the latest git version from winetricks (not from apt repository) " I don't have a clue what that is, I also see "You need to install winhttp library to support downloading files from HTTPS sites. If you're using winetricks, install by:"
I don't know the first thing about working with winetricks or even how to find winhttp thing.
Are you suggesting I uninstall PlayOnMac and Install this Ubuntu? Which I also have no idea to run. I'm hopeless!
I guess you best option is to go back to the windows machine or to use the webterminal.

Hello everyone, I just made the switch to Mac and am having a nightmare of a time trying to download MT5. I've downloaded PlayOnMaC, configured Wine etc but when I get to the installation screen for MT5 a screen pops up saying "Please specify proxy server options" This is a home laptop, I didn't think I had a proxy!? I've disabled my firewall, tried searching the internet far and wide and have been at this for 2 days now.
I've also tried downloading from broker sites and opening demo accounts but when the MT5 platform comes up it won't connect and I'm stuck at data ending at April 11th, which is strange as it is the same for three different brokers.
PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!
