Back Testing

Just a silly question;

when I back test an EA robot I am writing;

when I use the" control points", I get absolutely fantastic results. If I could only make my ea work like that in real life.

(it took $200 and grew it to over $200,000 in from July 1, 2011 to present... Sept 27 (less than 3 months))

when I back test the same ea, using "every tick".... it tanks. terrible... wipe out the account.

Why is that?

What do I need to do to my ea to make it work like it does on the "control points" back test?

Frustrating as it is, but any results obtained by backtesting with "control points" is worth absolutely nothing.

Even when backtesting with "every tick" the performance the backtester gives you is merely a hint on how your EA might perform in reality.

So to get your EA work like it works on the backtester theres no other way than to improve the strategy of your EA.

Thanks... I was afraid that was the case... I was hoping there was a way to tell the ea to only trade the control points... whatever they are.

I wonder what the point of the "control points" in the tester is?
