IMHO - the inherent lagginess of the SAR is least noticeable on EURUSD, would be worse on the other pairs

depends what 'small' is - often when SAR closes on price, its about to reverse - indeed that is the problem with flat markets & the SAR - the number of false reversals when price is going sideways :(
IIRC SAR itself was intended as a stop-loss indicator rather than a trade entry one?
You can get a stop-loss mechanism from the MT4 sample EA, 'MACD Sample'

Any comments gratefully recieved. Specifically advice on how to implement a trailing stop loss as this might be a good way to exit my trades.
Or I was thinking another way might be to be when the gap gets small between the parabolic and the price. As this would indicate a flat market when the Parabolic is not so useful.
